Sanwo Fintech, an escrow service focused on facilitating safer online transactions for buyers and sellers, recently won One million Naira (1,000,000) on the 22nd of November, at Zenith Bank Tech Week 2022. Sanwo was further promised access to an incubation program sponsored by Zenith bank.
The Tech fair which featured a hackathon amongst other sessions was intended to showcase leading technology innovations that cut across different aspects of life, such as Artificial Intelligence, Computing, Machine Learning, Blockchain, Robotics, Big Data, FinTech, Augmented Reality, Data Analytics, 5G and Communication Technologies, among others.
Speaking on the win, Sanwo’s CEO, Oredola Ibrahim commented; “It was a great experience. While we didn’t make the top 3, we truly appreciate the cash prize and access to mentorship. The real highlight for me was when people started coming to us to talk about the problem we are solving. They explained that they can relate and that we must continue building. We even had a car dealer who asked to be onboarded.”
Other innovative solutions that also carted home cash prizes at the event include: Ecotutu, Foris Labs, TynuEV, Eduvacity, GreenBii, Zion Robotics, SonoCare, Base, Finver, and IGrow Afrika.
Presenting the prize monies to the winners, the Group Managing Director/CEO of Zenith Bank Plc, Mr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu, said, “all finalists would be enlisted into our incubation lab for grooming and mentorship. Our expectation is that we are going to scale and grow them just like the zenith brand. So, looking at what we have gone through, I can tell you that so much iron has been loaded on fire. The only thing left is to activate the digital talents, tech skills and entrepreneurship that would culminate in a new digital economy for Nigeria”.
